​Copyright

The artist retains full copyright on all artwork produced, including mock-ups and prints. This means I may create prints, calendars, or other products using the image of the artwork. I reserve the right to display commissioned portraits on my website and social media pages.
If you do not want your commissioned portrait to be shared publicly, you must notify me before work begins.
 

Clients are not permitted to reproduce, resell, or distribute the artwork in any form without explicit written permission from the artist.

Reference Photos

All reference photos must be taken by the client or used with the original photographer’s permission.
For gift commissions, the client is responsible for ensuring that reference images are of the recipient’s pet and are authorized for use.
 

By submitting reference photos, you grant permission for them to be used in my publicity or advertising materials (e.g. showing a side-by-side of the photo and final portrait).

Quotes

Prices listed on the website are for guidance only. Each commission is unique and will be quoted individually based on your specific requirements.

Quotes are valid for 30 days. If you change the brief after the quote is given, an updated quote may be necessary. I will always inform you if any changes will affect the cost.

Timescales

I will provide estimated start and completion dates. However, these are not guaranteed. While I make every effort to meet agreed timelines, external factors such as postal delays may affect delivery.
I will keep you informed of any changes to your expected timeline.

Payment

A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required before I begin work on your commission.
Once the artwork is complete, the remaining balance (plus shipping and packaging costs) must be paid before the item is shipped.

Cancellations

You may cancel the commission at any time before the final balance is paid. However, the 50% deposit will be retained to cover time spent and potential lost business.
If I do not receive payment within 30 days of notifying you of completion, and I haven’t heard from you, I will assume the commission has been canceled.

Shipping

All artwork is shipped securely with tracking to the address provided.
If the portrait is a gift, I can send it directly to the recipient—please provide their name and address when ordering.

 

Shipping Damage

All items are packaged carefully to prevent damage. In the unlikely event that damage occurs in transit, please contact me immediately with a photo of the damage.

If the damage is confirmed, the artwork must be returned, and a new portrait will be created free of charge. The new portrait will be added to my client queue, so completion may take time.

Data Protection

I respect your privacy. Your personal information will never be sold, shared, or distributed to third parties.

 

Prints

While every effort is made to accurately reproduce original artwork in print form, slight variations in color and tone may occur due to scanner, printer, and screen settings.

 

Import Duties

Clients are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, or import charges that may apply in their country.

 

Gift Cards/Certificates

• Gift cards are non-refundable and must be used within 14 months of purchase (expiration date shown on the certificate).

• They can be used as full or partial payment for a pet portrait, including postage.

• If the card value is less than the required deposit, the client must pay the difference to confirm the commission.

• If the card covers the deposit, the remaining balance is due upon completion.

• If the card exceeds the total cost, any unused balance is forfeited. However, certificates may be used for multiple portraits commissioned at the same time.

• Only one card/certificate can be applied per commission.

• Prices on the website are subject to change. The final cost is determined at the time the certificate is redeemed.

• If prices have increased, the client must pay the difference.

• Card codes can only be used once. The purchaser and recipient are responsible for safeguarding the code.

• A place in the commission queue is reserved only when the portrait details are confirmed and a mock-up is approved—not when the card is purchased.

• Cards are valid only for original pet portrait commissions with Pet Love Portraits by Pam Valcante and cannot be used toward other shop items.
